Our Commitment to Privacy

We care about your privacy online. Bypass Network respects the privacy of both our physicians and students, and will not disclose member information without their prior consent. We use session ID cookies to confirm that users are logged in. These cookies terminate once the user closes the browser. How Member Information Is Used

Bypass Network will not allow anyone access to personal information that is not explicitly authorized by the member in advance. Information that is authorized for sharing may be used to allow other members to contact or search for a member. bypassnetwork.com will not share this information with unauthorized outside parties, and at no time will other users have access to your personal contact information (name, email addresses, phone/fax numbers) without your prior consent. Note: To prevent unnecessary data collection, personal mailing addresses for physicians are not collected anywhere on the bypassnetwork.com site.

Bypassnetwork.com will use email addresses to respond to user inquiries and to provide occasional updates on the status and functionality of the bypassnetwork.com website. Bypassnetwork.com provides the option for members to receive notifications of account activity (new messages, etc), and users may change this option at any time through the Privacy Settings in their Profile. Email addresses will not be used for any other purposes and will not be shared with outside parties.

Members can select to receive updates on bypassnetwork.com products and services. These services will only be available if this option is selected on the registration form or under the Dashboard settings.

bypassnetwork.com will use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design the website and to share user trends with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or that Y number of men and Z number of women filled out our registration form, but we will not disclose any personally identifiable information that could be used to identify or contact those users as individuals.

Finally, bypassnetwork.com does not use or share personal information in a manner unrelated to those described above.

Sharing Information With Third Parties

Bypassnetwork.com is about sharing information with others—between and amongst physicians and students—while providing you with privacy settings that restrict other users from accessing your information. We allow you to choose the information you provide to friends and networks through Bypassnetwork.com. Our network architecture and your privacy settings allow you to make informed choices about who has access to your information. We do not provide contact information to third party marketers without your permission. We share your information with third parties only in limited circumstances where we believe such sharing is 1) reasonably necessary to offer the service, 2) legally required or, 3) permitted by you. For example:

Unlike most sites on the Web, Bypassnetwork.com limits access to site information by third party search engine "crawlers" (e.g. Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask). Bypassnetwork.com takes action to block access by these engines to personal information beyond your name, profile picture, and limited aggregated data about your profile.

We may provide information to service providers to help us bring you the services we offer. Specifically, we may use third parties to facilitate our business, such as to host the service at a co-location facility for servers, to send out email updates about Bypassnetwork.com, to remove repetitive information from our user lists, to process payments for products or services, to offer an online job application process, or to provide search results or links (including sponsored links). In connection with these offerings and business operations, our service providers may have access to your personal information for use for a limited time in connection with these business activities. Where we utilize third parties for the processing of any personal information, we implement reasonable contractual and technical protections limiting the use of that information to the Bypassnetwork.com-specified purposes.

We may be required to disclose user information pursuant to lawful requests, such as subpoenas or court orders, or in compliance with applicable laws. We do not reveal information until we have a good faith belief that an information request by law enforcement or private litigants meets applicable legal standards. Additionally, we may share account or other information when we believe it is necessary to comply with law, to protect our interests or property, to prevent fraud or other illegal activity perpetrated through the Bypassnetwork.com service or using the Bypassnetwork.com name, or to prevent imminent bodily harm. This may include sharing information with other companies, lawyers, agents or government agencies.

We let you choose to share information with marketers or electronic commerce providers through on-site offers.

If the ownership of all or substantially all of the Bypassnetwork.com business, or individual business units owned by Bypassnetwork.com, Inc., were to change, your user information may be transferred to the new owner so the service can continue operations. In any such transfer of information, your user information would remain subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Policy.

Our Commitment To Data Security

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. However, there are inherent aspects of the internet that can undermine our efforts and bypassnetwork.com strongly suggests that users take additional precautions to safeguard their account activity, including but not limited to: using secure computers and connections, maintaining up-to-date anti-virus software, and using firewalls where appropriate. You post your personally identifiable information on the Site at your own risk. Although we allow you to set privacy options that limit access to your pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We cannot control the actions of other Users with whom you may choose to share your pages and information. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that the information that you post on the Site will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Site. You understand and acknowledge that, even after removal, copies of User Content may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other Users have copied or stored your User Content.

Furthermore, members are responsible for not disclosing their password or recording it in a location where others can access it. Finally, members should always log-out from the bypassnetwork.com system following use and shutdown the browser from which they logged-in (this is especially important when using public computers such as in a library or at a school).

Any improper collection or misuse of information provided on Bypassnetwork.com is a violation of the Bypass Network's Terms of Use and should be reported by using the contact form.
